ABOUT

DENNY A MALFOY

Denny Malfoy is Lucius Malfoy’s younger brother by mere minutes. From birth, Denny was the unwanted brother, raised without a shred of love or support. In his parents' eyes, Lucius was the one worthy of the family name, while Denny became the black sheep. Raised in the shadow of rejection, Denny found solace in books and the study of magic; over time, he grew into one of the most powerful and independent wizards around. Despite the Malfoy name, he cares nothing for material wealth; his priority is his own life, not flaunting superiority over others. He was an excellent student naturally sorted into Slytherin but that was also when he was forced to join the Death Eaters and serve the Dark Lord. Receiving the mark on his forearm changed him completely, transforming a hopeful young man into someone who felt like a pawn in a game he never wanted to play. He harbored an indescribable sense of contempt. Upon entering adulthood after leaving school, he resolved to return one day as a teacher and he did just that. He fulfilled his dream, becoming the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor. He commanded respect—not merely because of his surname, but also out of fear, given the immense power he possessed.

The night that changed everything ( a memory)

MOMENT BEFORE TRAGEDY

It was an exceptionally quiet and cold night—a December night that, as it turned out, would change his entire life. The then-twenty-year-old wizard had just endured another argument with his brother, who had ranted about being superior simply because he had a wife and was expecting a son—Draco. Not wanting to do something rash, Denny left the house and headed to the nearest bar; one whisky, then two. His gaze fell upon a woman. She was sitting alone, in tears, bewildered by her situation. Curiosity got the better of the young man; ordering two more drinks, he approached her and listened to her story. One word led to another, one glass followed another, and the whole thing turned into a romance that teetered on the edge of what was safe—and naturally, what was socially acceptable. Eventually, however, the day arrived when Mrs. Nott said a firm "yes" to the elder Nott; and just like that, Denny and his former girlfriend went their separate ways, leaving behind nothing but memories and a bitter regret that he had allowed himself to feel anything at all—that he had let his usual indifference be eclipsed by emotions other than indifference. Denny never confessed to anyone about his affair or his broken heart. He would often look back on what the woman had told him that day in the bar—about her forced marriage and how deeply unhappy she was. X.After that time—and following the permanent loss of the person he loved—he vowed to honor the request of Theo’s mother: he would keep the truth hidden, yet he would always protect the boy, acting as a father who would gladly give his own life for him, even if, in the boy’s eyes, he was to be nothing more than a professor.

Teacher & Death Eater

Emotional pain is the real pain

Balancing the role of a Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher with that of one of Lord Voldemort’s most powerful servants against his own will can be a heavy burden. The mask Denny wears every day is all but indescribable; these are two worlds he tries to keep strictly separated, to the point where one might say they are two completely different people.1. As a teacher, Denny is firm and demanding, yet humane. Having lacked adequate family support during his own childhood, he now strives to pass on his knowledge to others and always makes time for students when they need him. Although known for his stoic, emotionless demeanor, only he knows the daily internal battle he fights and the pain he has carried with him all these years.
